The first bow and arrow ever created was probably used for hunting, and was not until later on that archery was used in combat. Thousands of years ago, archery was practiced in every country, except for Australia.

It was developed independently in different cultures and times and replaced the spear throwers as a projectile unit. Archery traditionally was used for hunting and warfare. Today, you will see archery as a sport as well, it is even in the Olympics too.

Archery is a great sport for building confidence quickly. The feeling of shooting a bow and accomplishing your goal ? whether it?s drilling a bull?s eye or executing a great shot ? helps you build self-esteem and enjoy a sense of accomplishment. Archery is also great for improving focus, patience and even math skills. Beginners must ensure their correct positioning ensuring one foot needs to be either side of the shooting line and standing with their feet shoulder-width apart, weight even on both feet and the body at a 90-degree angle to the target. Therefore some amount of guidance is essential to ensure the correct technique of drawing the arrow from the quiver and the correct way of curling the index finger around the string above the arrow, these need specific detailing hence one needs to imbibe the technique under a professional guidance.
